Matt Chance has been head coach of the Bobcat Cross Country team 24 of the past 25 years.  During his time as head coach he has won (23) EMO Boys Conference  Championships, 14 Boys District Championships, and (5) Boys State Top 4 finishes. The 2009 boys team were crowned Class 2 State Champions.  He has also led the girls to (17) EMO Conference Championships and (9) District Championships while earning (5) Top 4 finishes at the State Cross Country Meet.  Coach Chance has also been awarded Coach of the Year honors in Cross Country in 2003, 2009,2010. 

Coach Chance has had equal success in Track and Field leading the Bobcat Track and Field teams to 22 EMO Conference Championships (boys and girls) and three district championships.  The Bobcat boys track team was also crowned 2023 Class 3 State Champions. He was voted the 2019 and 2023 Missouri State Track & Field Coach of Year.

Coach Chance is a 1997 graduate of Simpson College (Indianola, Iowa) where he was a 3 x All American at 5,000 meters for the Simpson College Track Team.  

Chance resides in Curryville, MO with his wife (Kim), and two sons (Brock and Ben).
